Design to Delivery for Mixed Rubber Plastic and Metal Assemblies

One sub assembly often contains a moulded seal, a plastic housing and a machined metal insert. Bought separately, the three arrive on three lead times and nobody owns the interfaces. This is the alternative.

Stage by Stage

Where It Usually Goes Wrong and What We Do Instead

Each stage lists the failure mode first, then how we close it. If a stage does not apply to your part we will say so rather than bill for it.

  1. Requirement Review

A bill of materials arrives as three unrelated inquiries and gets quoted three different ways.

We take the assembly as one inquiry and come back with one quotation covering all of it.

  2. Sourcing and Capacity

A single factory rarely covers rubber, plastic and metal well.

More than ten partner factories give capacity across processes, with our own engineers deciding who makes what.

  3. Plastic Parts

Plastic suppliers quoted directly leave the buyer doing the quality follow up from another country.

Three plastic production suppliers work under our inquiry, quality control and delivery supervision.

  4. Rubber and Bonding

Rubber to metal interfaces are where split sourcing fails first.

Our machining workshop, coating workshop and moulding all sit in house for those parts.

  5. Tooling Coordination

Several tools at several vendors mature at different times and hold up the first shipment.

Tooling is scheduled against one build date, with our mould workshop handling the rubber tools directly.

  6. Quality Control

Each vendor inspects to their own understanding of the drawing.

Parts are checked against approved first articles, and delivery is supervised by us rather than self reported.

  7. Consolidated Shipment

Partial shipments arriving separately cost more and stall assembly.

Parts are consolidated and shipped together so the assembly line has a complete kit.

  8. After Delivery

Follow up questions go to whichever vendor answers first.

One contact, replying within one working day, for every part in the assembly.

Design to Delivery for Mixed Rubber Plastic and Metal Assemblies Questions

Are you a factory or a trading company?

Both, and we would rather be clear about it. Suzhou Baoshida runs its own mould, machining and coating workshops and its own engineering team, and works with more than ten partner factories for capacity.

Who is responsible if one part in the assembly is wrong?

We are. That is the point of buying the assembly from one supplier rather than from three.

Can you ship everything together?

Yes. Consolidating the shipment is normally why customers bring the whole assembly here.

How do you supervise the partner factories?

Our own engineers handle inquiry, quality control and delivery supervision at the supplier rather than relying on their own reporting.
