NBR is the working compound for anything that meets oil or fuel at moderate temperature. Its oil resistance is good, its cost is reasonable, and for that reason it carries more industrial sealing than any other single elastomer. We supply NBR O-rings for automotive, aerospace, wire and cable and home appliance applications, in AS568 sizes from existing moulds and in custom sizes tooled here.
Only values our own records support appear here. Anything we cannot evidence is left out rather than estimated.

EPDM is the better choice for water, steam, brake fluid and weather exposure, and the wrong choice wherever mineral oil is present. NBR is the reverse.
FKM extends chemical and temperature range well beyond NBR at higher cost. Where NBR is adequate, FKM is money spent on margin you do not use.
HNBR is what we use for cold medium service such as power steering pipes, where standard nitrile is at its limit.

HNBR is the compound we reach for when a nitrile seal has to stay reliable in cold medium service.

EPDM has good weather resistance and unusual versatility, which is why it appears across automotive, electrical and electronic products, daily necessities, sports equipment and mechanised industrial equipment, as well as in wires, cables and high voltage and ultra high voltage insulation materials.

These two compounds cover an enormous share of industrial sealing between them, and they fail in each other's territory. Getting the boundary right removes most avoidable seal problems.

Six questions decide almost every seal material choice. Answer them before you ask for a price, and the quotation you get back will be worth comparing.
Read the guide →Oil, fuel and hydrocarbon contact at moderate temperature. It is the default industrial sealing compound for that duty.
Where there is significant ozone or weather exposure, or where temperature or chemistry exceeds what nitrile handles. EPDM or FKM would be the alternatives.
Yes, from moulds we already hold, so there is no tooling charge.
It depends on size and quantity. Send the size list and we will tell you before you commit.
